Midwives in Midlands turn to Twitter to reach patients

The maternity department at Burton’s Queen’s Hospital is to use social media as a new way of finding ways to improve antenatal care.

A new maternity team Twitter account – launching at the end of this month – will hold live online chats with midwives, listen to the concerns of local women and share health advice and information.

Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said it was one of a number of new initiatives designed to boost engagement between midwives and patients.
