Dutch students on placement with private hospital

  • Comment

A private hospital in Lincolnshire has been playing host to two student nurses from the Netherlands.

Dorine Schutte and Amber Plas are spending several months at the BMI Lincoln Hospital as the final part of their training.

They will become qualified on their return to their home of Hardenberg on the border of Holland and Germany.

Ms Plas said: “Because we don’t have private hospitals in Holland, the BMI Lincoln is much smaller than we are used to.

“It has many less patients but that is good in many ways and the atmosphere is more relaxed and friendly. You get to spend more time with the patients,” she added.

Moira Stoke, executive director of BMI Lincoln, said the training had been arranged in conjunction with the University of Lincoln.

“The girls have been an absolute delight to have in the hospital,” she said. “They are great workers and always have a smile on their faces.”
