Burton FT admits 'desire to vary' Agenda for Change

There is a “desire to vary Agenda for Change” at Burton Hospitals Foundation Trust, according to its human resources director.

Roger Smith made the comments at a meeting on 27 September, the minutes of which have been released to Nursing Times’ sister title HSJ under Freedom of Information Act.

The minutes say that “pay controls” were put in place in July.

Mr Smith advised that there were other areas where savings could be made, such as on-call, overtime taken as time in lieu and e-rostering.

Mr Smith “confirmed there was a desire to vary Agenda for Change” and said he would present a discussion paper to an upcoming meeting, the minutes say.

  • Trusts accepted AfC and should stand by it. Aspects such as double time for overtime on a Sunday being reduced to time and a half is still accepted. Why is it only areas where staff profited under attack?
