Cambridge University Hospitals Foundation Trust has appointed a new interim chief nurse, the trust has announced.

Ann-Marie Ingle, currently Papworth Hospital Foundation Trust director of nursing, will join on 1 July.

She will replace Karen Castille, who has taken up a secondment as an associate director with the NHS Confederation, where she will lead the management organisation’s work on supporting the NHS in its response to the Francis report.

Ms Ingle, who has over 25 years experience in the NHS at ward and board level, is currently the executive lead on the Papworth trust’s board for patient safety, patient experience, professional support services, clinical governance and risk management, as well as theatres, critical care, pathology and radiology services.

Her background is in critical care nursing and nurse education.

Speaking on her interim appointment, she said: “I am delighted to have been asked to help CUH as interim chief nurse, and look forward to working with the trust to ensure that patients continue to receive the high quality care they can expect from the NHS.”
