Carter highest placed nursing representative in HSJ100

Royal College of Nursing chief executive and general secretary Peter Carter was the highest placed nursing representative in the Health Service Journal 100 2010 - a ranked list of the people with the greatest influence on health policy and the NHS.

Mr Carter was ranked number 23, up two places from last year’s list, while former nurse and Unison head of health Karen Jennings jumped 13 places to be placed at number 35.

Health minister and former nurse Anne Milton, who was not in last year’s list, was ranked 48th.

  • Fantastic - and what is he doing for his members? I suspose that snuggling up to the government in desperation to be Sir Peter is influence of a kind.

Does anyone know what gets people on this list? I didn't even recognise half the names in the list!
