  • We used to do it for the patients....remember them? I was admitted to A&E one Christmas Day (1986), and heard many of the backhanded judgemental comments/assuptions made by staff, in A&E and X-Ray....you don't forget your experiences in the NHS, as staff or otherwise. As staff we are not immune of illness, so hope you have a good experience and receive the right treatment.

  • If you have to work or if you have to be a patient in hospital on Christmas day, why do dress up and make the best of it for both staff and patients.

  • Staff on my ward just had antlers/hats on & were ordered by the charge nurse to take them off - Bah Humbug! (But all you can expect from the NHS as an employer these days)
