Doncaster honours wartime nurse

A Yorkshire hospital is to display pictures of one its wartime nurses in celebration of her 90th birthday.

A former nurse at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Lillian Richardson, celebrates her 90th birthday today, 11 April 2011.

To mark the event, her family has donated photographs of her to include in the hospital’s photo gallery.

The photograph was taken after Ms Richardson had completed a 12-hour night shift in 1943.

  • Hi I wonder if you would be able to send me a copy of the original nursing times front cover dated 15th July 2011? My Friends mum is on the front cover of this edition (Lillian Richardson) it is her 95th Birthday this next week and he has asked if I can help with this as I am a nurse. I can see it is there on archive but doesn't have the headers. Would it be possible to send it to me by email at Thank you for your assistance. Katie Jenkins.
