Health unions to march again next month

Health unions are urging their members to join a demonstration next month against future public sector cuts.

The event, described as a march for a “future that works, has been organised by the Trades Union Congress and will take place in London on 20 October. It follows a similar demonstration held on 26 March last year, which was dubbed the “march for the alternative”.

In a statement encouraging people to join the demonstration, Unison said the government’s spending cuts were “standing in the way of delivering the jobs and growth that we need”.

It added: “Together we can send a strong message to ministers to insist they deliver an economic policy to create jobs and growth, a society that benefits from world class public services and a commitment to a fairer future.”

  • Urging nurses to take action. Good luck with that. Sigh.

  • See what I mean? Nursing deserves everything it gets.
