  • Comment

Jean White has been appointed chief nursing officer for Wales.

Dr White, who has been acting as chief nursing officer since September 2010, was previously a nursing officer in the Welsh Assembly and led the UK Modernising Nursing Careers programme.

She said: “I am committed to developing and supporting the nursing and midwifery professions as we move to a modernised and more integrated health and social service in Wales.”

Dr White succeeds Rosemary Kennedy, who was chief nursing officer for 11 years.
