New nursing director for Hillingdon Hospitals FT

Hillingdon Hospitals Foundation Trust has appointed an experienced new nursing director.

Theresa Murphy has been appointed director of patient experience and nursing for the trust, according to latest board papers published on 18 February.

She will start in her new post in early May, when she will replace Jacqueline Walker who has stepped up as acting director of nursing.

Ms Murphy is currently director of nursing at North Middlesex University Hospital Trust.

She started her nursing career in Jersey in the Channel Islands, then went on to specialise in renal, cardiac, neuroscience and critical care nursing.

She has held a variety of senior clinical and managerial nursing positions in Birmingham and in London, including at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, North West London NHS Trust, The Royal Free Hospital, Imperial College and at Barts and the London.
