New nursing director for Leeds acute trust

  • Comment

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has appointed a new director of nursing, according to board papers.

Board papers for February note that Suzanne Hinchcliffe has been appointed executive director of nursing and quality assurance.

“Each short-listed candidate faced an assessment centre with senior members of staff and formal interviews,” the papers said.

Former chief nurse and director of infection control Ruth Holt left the trust at the end of last year to begin a secondment at the NHS Confederation as director of nursing and associate director.

She was the chief nurse at South Manchester University Hospitals Trust until 2006 prior to which she held clinical and managerial posts in acute and community settings.

Ms Hincliffe was previously chief nurse and chief operating officer at University of Leicester Hospitals NHS Trust, which she joined in January 2009.

She was awarded a CBE in the 2003 Queens New Year’s Honours for services to healthcare and nursing.
