Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Val Doyle as its new director of operations.

She will join the Shropshire based trust on 2 April.

For the last three years she has been director of operations at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Birmingham.

Originally from Ireland, Ms Doyle moved to England in 1975 to start general and orthopaedic nurse training. She later worked in Wales and was director of nursing at the North East Wales Trust in Wrexham for seven years.

Previously Ms Doyle also had a national role as chair of the Welsh Nursing and Midwifery Committee.
