Nurses and midwives up and down the country have been battling to work against the odds as the UK is stuck in the grip of snow this week.

Among them are the Willeys from Chopwell in Northumberland.Darren Willey, a farmer, has been driving his Wife Cheryl and other maternity ward staff, like Annie Davison, by JCB tractor to Hexham General Hospital.
