Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has appointed a new executive director to lead its nursing workforce.

Louise Stead will take up post as the trust’s director of nursing and patient experience from 7 November.

She will take the operational lead for the development and implementation of the trust’s Strategy for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Healthcare Professionals.

She was previously the trust’s acting head of nursing and associate head of nursing, where she acted as the strategic lead for practice development and implemented its policy for safeguarding adults.

Ms Stead said: “I have worked at the Royal Surrey for 14 years, having previously worked in the London teaching hospitals and I am passionate about the hospital.

“Nursing is the trust’s largest staff group and I am looking forward representing nursing at board level as well as making sure patient experience at the Royal Surrey is the best it can be.”

Trust chief executive Nick Moberly said: “I am delighted to welcome Louise to the trust board.  Louise has significant experience and understanding of the Royal Surrey and has made an exceptional impact during her time as associate head of nursing.”
