Stress training has no lasting effect on student absence

  • Comment

A programme designed to reduce sickness absence among student nurses by helping them stay active and manage stress did not have a sustained long-term effect, a study has found.

Danish researchers offered a programme combining physical training, patient transfer techniques and stress management to 568 students.

The programme reduced sickness levels after 14 months but this was not sustained at 36 months.
