Practice nurses receive diabetes support

  • Comment

Practice nurses will be able to benefit from a new flipchart to help them discuss diet with diabetes patients.

The chart, which has been produced by Diabetes UK, has on one side essential information on how to facilitate discussions about diet with diabetes patients.

On the other side there is a summary of evidence-based advice on how to achieve nutritional goals.
Around half of all queries to Diabetes UK’s care line are food-related, equating to around 20,000 calls a year.

The chart has been sent to over 10,000 practice nurses in the UK along with supporting notes and a patient booklet entitled ‘Eating Well With Diabetes’.
