School leavers encouraged to join NHS

  • Comment
NHS Careers has launched a set of online resources to teach school children and college students about jobs in healthcare.

The lesson plans are the second part of Step into the NHS, a campaign to encourage teenagers to think about careers in the NHS.

Research carried out by NHS Careers last year identified that 49% of teenagers would consider a career in the health service, of which 18% were interested in nursing or midwifery.

The resources and results of the research are available to school and university careers advisors to help plan the delivery and content of careers advice.
