Maggie Gregory has taken up the post of senior sister to oversee the running of renal wards and outpatient services at the brand new department under development at Doncaster Royal Infirmary (DRI).

In a return to the home of her student training, Ms Gregory was attracted to the post because of the opportunities to build up relationships with the patients.

She said: 'I used to work in surgery and it was so transient you rarely saw patients again unless they had further surgery. However, working in renal services, you see patients repeatedly and get to know them and about their families.?

The first phase of the new development at DRI is due to open in the spring.
