Service provides 24-hour care

  • Comment
Community nurses at Northumberland Care Trust, including community matron Olive Lightley, have launched a leaflet campaign to raise the profile of their 24-hour nursing service.

Coinciding with International Nurses Day on 12 May – which this year focuses on primary care nurses – the campaign highlights the 24-hour care the nurses provide for local people.

Vivienne Braithwaite, senior manager for district nursing at the trust, said: ‘Many people are now able to live at home with the support they get from the service instead of having to be admitted to hospital.’
