Sign NT's petition to protect training

  • Comment
NT is urging nurses to lobby government to ringfence training funds by signing a petition to the prime minister.
Add your name to NT’s campaign petition on the 10 Downing Street website by clicking here. NT will be using the results of the petition to put pressure on ministers, trusts and strategic health authorities to protect post-registration training resources for nurses.

More than half of the 3,814 nurses recently surveyed by NT said they were not receiving adequate levels of training (NT News, 15 January, p2). More than two-thirds had received less than ten days post-registration training in the last 12 months.

NT will be running the Time Out For Training campaign for the next six months. Click on this link for more information on what we are doing and how to get involved.

However, similar issues for doctors may be about to improve, after an independent inquiry into the Modernising Medical Careers programme recommended training funds should be protected and come under the control of a non-political body.
