Specialist neonatal care standard published

  • Comment

A national quality standard for specialist neonatal care has been published by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence.

The standard says NHS organisations in England should provide safe and efficient transfers to and from specialist neonatal care; parents should be encouraged and supported to be involved in planning and providing care for their baby; mothers should be supported to start and continue breastfeeding; and babies should have outcomes monitored.
