Care home grabs a slice of the World Cup action

  • Comment

St Cecilia’s care home in Scarborough got into the football spirit by holding a World Cup party.

Taking pride of place was a World Cup cake, created by the home’s chef Duncan Cammish.

The care home has also been decked out with the flags of St George, showing support for England.

Care home manager Jo Edmond said the World Cup offered something different for residents at the home.

“We like an occasion here at St Cecilia’s and the World Cup certainly provides that,” she said. “We will be watching the games and cheering England on. It provides some entertainment and stimulation for the residents and creates a real buzz around the home.

“Everyone enjoyed the party and particularly Duncan’s cake, which was fabulous.”
