Did you ban Christmas decorations?

Last year hospitals across the UK took the precaution of banning Christmas decorations as an infection control measure.

The Journal of Infection Prevention is now asking for the evidence that the ban had any impact on infection prevention.

In a comment the journal suggests that now Christmas is over “perhaps someone will find some spare Christmas decorations, place them in a ward and ask a friendly microbiologist to help with sampling and cultures over a twelve day period”.
