MRSA in nose differs between patients

Patients carry vastly different amounts of MRSA in their noses, a potential indicator for their risk of developing an infection after surgery, a study has found.

The research, due to be published in a future edition of the journal Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology, found the elderly, HIV-infected, and haemodialysis patients were at greatest risk of carrying MRSA in their nose.
