“I’m training to be a mental health nurse, and right now I’m on my first-ever placement.
“It’s been great, everything’s going really well – but one thing has been gnawing at me.
“On several occasions, I’ve witnessed a senior nurse treat patients poorly. He’s been dismissive, judgmental, and at points, flat out racist. I may be just getting started, but I know that this isn’t how you should treat patients; in fact, I know that this isn’t how you should treat anybody.
“It seems like no one else notices, but the way he speaks to patients doesn’t sit right with me.
“I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, but should I report his behavior? Should I confront him about it directly? I’m not sure how to deal with this.”
