Are having problems with your bursary?

Have you had any delays in receiving the bursary you’re entitled to?

We’re concerned that too many of you are still waiting for your money.

If this is you, please email shaun.lintern@emap.com to let him know what’s been happening

  • I indeed have had problems with my bursary to the point where I had to change what type of bursary I was applying for! The evidence requested was not logical for estrangement and now I am applying as an independent ( not before it was recommended I apply as dependent on parents! ) I really think that there is no consideration for peoples circumstances, not everyone lives at home at 18 let alone with their parents able to afford to support their child at this age. It is a very real let down.

  • Since taking maternity leave in summer 2012 and moving in with my partner I have had never ending problems with student bursaries. 6 months without any money at all, tried to pay back an over payment, was told I didn't owe them anything, then had an invoice requesting £4200 to be paid back by the end of the month! Whilst this is an ongoing issue that is supposedly being sorted out I am back at uni only to find that the childcare element of my claim has been missed/lost! Have a bill of £800 to pay by friday and no sign of anything being sorted yet. Facing losing my childs space in childcare, on placement in 2 weeks and supposed to be starting my dissertation. The pressure is more than I've ever experienced before to the point of seriously considering dropping out and getting a job.
