'Gain insight into respiratory nursing at ARNS'

The Association of Respiratory Nurse Specialists (ARNS) was established in 1997 as a nursing forum to champion the specialty respiratory nursing community, promote excellence in practice, and influence respiratory health policy.

ARNS also works to influence the direction of respiratory nursing care and provides a supportive network. We encourage information sharing, best practice and research collaboration through an annual conference, website, regular email updates, and social media.

As a member on the Education sub-committee I am really pleased to share this exciting opportunity for two enthusiastic student nurses. One of our main aims is to support respiratory education in practice.

We have many educational pathways including bursaries and supporting student nurse programmes of study. With this in mind we have this year agreed to offer two places at our annual conference at a significantly reduced rate.

The two students will get a place at the conference, including their accommodation and a place at the conference dinner and award ceremony, staying in a beautiful hotel in Newport, Wales. The normal cost of this would be £320 but we are offering two places for just £50 each.

To apply to be considered please submit 250 words in support of your application to explaining how this conference will help you in your nursing journey.

You may be a nursing student who has recently experienced or looking forward to a respiratory focused placement such as on a ward or within a community team, or have a keen interest in respiratory nursing and want to know more.

This is an opportunity to gain an insight into the speciality of respiratory by networking and having access to a conference programme that explores the breadth and depth of this nursing speciality.

As a nurse with over 30 years’ experience, I know how important education and continuous professional development is. There is no better way to get this than at a conference that offers key updates, the latest developments and the opportunity to network with like-minded colleagues.

The closing date for applications is 15 March 2019.
