'I find studying and memorisation difficult'

Can you advise this student nurse?

“I am a very visual and hands-on learner, but so much of studying to be a nurse is involves texts and memorisation.

“I learn best through actually doing things, but I know that isn’t the only aspect of becoming a nurse. I sometimes find it difficult to concentrate.

”Does anyone have any tips for staying focused on this aspect of being a student?”

  • Try learning the basics and the important parts of each module and then write these on flashcards and look at these very night. Try and summarise the parts you need to learn and make notes, you may learn more by writing these out by pen rather than typing them out.
