My housemates are so inconsiderate

Do you have any advice for this student nurse?

“Hi,

“I just started my course in March and have moved into halls. Unfortunately, I’ve not been put with any other student nurses and the girls I live with are really into going out.

“At first I was going out with them but since I started placement I’ve stopped because I want to put placement first.

“But they don’t seem to understand this and keep coming in late and waking me up. They’ve set the fire alarm off three times in the past week!

“How can I make them realise I need my sleep?!”

Emma, Wales

  • Emma, have you asked to be moved to the nursing residences where you will be with like students! That might be an option. Otherwise you are going to have to ask you hall mates nicely to try and be considerate and keep noise down or you are going to have to wear ear plugs!
    Good luck with your studies

  • in your place, I would speak to somebody in charge of the accommodation and explain the situation and then follow the suggestions of the above poster.
