When should you specialise?

Is it too early to decide on your specialism while you’re still studying?

Many student nurses start their course with a good idea of where they want to end up. Some change their minds after they see other types of nursing and some retain that passion for one area. There’s no right or wrong way to go about it.

  • But does deciding on a specialism too early stop you from fully exploring other areas?
  • Is it best to look for a more general first nursing job?
