Will I ever have fun at university?

Can you advise this student nurse?

I have been looking forward to starting uni for a long time now, but now that I am here, I am not sure it’s what I hoped for. My timetable seems a lot more intense than that of my friends. How will I balance it all and still have a life at uni? I understand why lectures are compulsory, but I still didn’t expect it to be this intense. Is this what my life will always be like in this profession?

  • Are you looking after yourself? Are you organised? There's a brilliant article all about this. You are talking about balance. Get a timetable ready so you know when you'll be studying, attending lectures, writing and making notes. Remember everybody - your tutors, your friends and everybody else, including me, wants you to succeed.

    Now about having fun...
Which groups are you joining at University?
    Which clubs can challenge you?
Think of all the skills you need to be a nurse. See what you can get out of all the uni clubs Science clubs, debating societies to show you to persuade everyone around you...
