  • Comment

There are now 137 cases of swine flu in the UK, according to latest figures from the Health Protection Agency.

All of the new cases are in England and three were linked with previous confirmed cases of swine flu and one a returning traveller, said the HPA.

One of the new cases is a two year-old toddler from Oxford, who is a close household contact of a 29 year-old woman who was confirmed as having H1N1 influenza A on Sunday.

Worldwide, the total number of confirmed swine flu cases has reached almost 13,000 and there have been 92 deaths.

However the World Health Organisation’s pandemic alert level is at five out of a possible six.
