  • Comment

A new targeted treatment for advanced colorectal cancer has been launched in theUK.

Panitumumab (Vectibix) is the first fully human monoclonal antibody targeted at the anti-epidermal growth factor receptor – a protein that plays an important role in cancer cell signalling.

The drug is indicated as monotherapy for the treatment of patients with EGFR expressing metastatic colorectal cancer with the non-mutated KRAS oncogene, after chemotherapy has failed.
