Teddy bears bring Christmas to children in South Coast hospital

  • Comment
A little Christmas cheer was brought to Southampton General Hospital, when 200 teddy bears were delivered for children staying over the festive season.

The ‘Me to You’ bears were delivered today by Carte Blanche Greetings Ltd to Burlesdon House, part of Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust's child health unit, along with other donations from individuals and companies as part of the hospital’s toy appeal. They will be wrapped by volunteers and staff and given to children for Christmas.

Wendy Goodall, a spokesperson for Carte Blanche Greetings Ltd, said: ‘We are delighted to make a contribution to this year’s toy appeal. The bears are always so well received by children and adults alike and will hopefully bring a little comfort and cheer this Christmas.’

Jenny Howse, a nurse at Burlesdon House, said: We want to say a special thank you to Carte Blanche for their very kind donation. The ‘Me to You’ bears are going to make the perfect present for hundreds of children this Christmas.’
