The big question: would you be tempted to leave the NHS to work in the US?

Health Education England has warned that the NHS risks losing thousands of nurses to the US if it fails to value and support existing nursing staff.

HEE’s chief executive Professor Ian Cumming said the NHS would be “stuffed” if UK-trained nurses left to plug a massive shortfall in staff across the Atlantic.

He warned the advent of “Obamacare” could prove a drain on the NHS because the US may “coming shopping” to the UK to fill a 100,000 shortfall in nurses over the next three years.

Would you leave the NHS to work in the US?

  • US shopping for nurses in the UK

UK shopping for nurses in Portugal

Germany shopping for them in China

what's is going on and where is it going to end?

who is going to end up with too few and who with too many and then have to send them packing

what about the poorer countries? who is filling the posts there?

will all of this shopping and shifting around of nurses to countries with different cultures and even unfamiliar language enrich the health services and raise standards or have the entirely opposite and possibly devastating effect?

    Globalisation, globalisation, globalisation

    location, location, location!

  • I would rather stay and fight for the NHS. If we lose it, that's it, gone for good. The one good thing the working class have left is the NHS. Stay and fight.
