Trust rapped over poor performance

  • Comment
Ministers have told managers at an acute trust in Wales to review its poor performance in orthopaedics and A&E.

Health minister for Wales Edwina Hart instructed Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust to review its leadership and governance, as well as the management of its waiting list.

The trust has repeatedly failed to meet waiting-time targets of 22 weeks for orthopaedic procedures and has consistently been the worst performer in Wales against four-hour and eight-hour A&E targets.

Ms Hart said: ‘The trust has had substantial support from my officials, yet problems remain.’
