Trust served with hygiene order

  • Comment
A second NHS trust has been issued with a warning from the Healthcare Commission after it failed to meet government infection control regulations.

Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust was issued with an improvement notice last month after inspectors found it breached two parts of duty number four of the government’s hygiene code.

In visits on 21 and 22 January, the regulator found the trust had not followed appropriate decontamination procedures for equipment and arrangements for clean and appropriate premises, with soiled commodes marked for use. The decontamination breach has since been rectified.

Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust was be issued with an improvement notice last July.
