The UK is the third best place for nurses to work because of its good career progression possibilities, according to results from a survey.

A poll of 1,289 nurses from around the world found that 38% thought the US was the best place to work as a nurse - mostly because of good working conditions. A further 14% chose Australia citing lifestyle reasons, while 13% chose the UK, because of career progression possibilities.

Canada, New Zealand, the Middle East and Ireland made up the rest of the countries in the survey, which was carried out by the international nursing advice service 21stCenturyNurse.com.
