Unions back NT training campaign

  • Comment
The nursing profession’s three largest unions have given their backing to NT’s major new campaign Time Out For Training.

Unison, the RCN and Unite/CPHVA have all told NT they support the campaign’s aim to improve access to post-registration training for nurses.

Additionally, more than a 100 people signed the campaign’s petition last week, calling on the prime minister to ring-fence training funds. Add your name by visiting

Junior health minister Lord Darzi told parliament last week he was satisfied rules governing how government training funds were spent were robust enough, despite NT revealing that 52% of nurses were unable to access adequate training (NT News, 15 January, p2).
