Members are being asked for their views on the fairest way for these payments to be calculated. According to the college, some trusts have failed to honour new arrangements for unsocial hours payments introduced in April.
Josie Irwin, RCN employment relations adviser, said: ‘Some employers had kept the old system in place.’
Proposals to strengthen the system include calculating holiday unsocial hours payments according to a reference period or using a multiplier, which is based on holiday entitlement.
