Urinary catheter-related quality of life instrument developed

  • Comment

A quality of life measure designed specifically for use in research with people who have a long-term urinary catheter has been developed.

The tool was tested in two small studies for reliability and content and modified after each study. The authors used the International Continence Society validated generic incontinence quality of life tool and ICS guidelines to develop content.

The final instrument contains 22 items which focus on catheter management and interpersonal and psychosocial issues.
