Vaccination data on NHS staff needed

  • Comment
A mandatory system to monitor the immunisation status of NHS staff is needed, according to the Health Protection Agency.

Following a number of incidents involving healthcare workers and vaccination-preventable diseases, the HPA asked all acute trusts in England to provide information on the vaccine data held on staff.

Of the 104 trusts that responded, a third did not have complete data on the vaccination status of all staff members and only 42% said they would be willing to provide this information voluntarily to the HPA.
