A SHORT film that highlights abuse of older people has been made for community nurses.

A SHORT film that highlights abuse of older people has been made for community nurses.

The Community and District Nursing Association video is part of an ongoing campaign to pressure the government into making the issue as important as child abuse.

The CDNA is working with an inter-ministerial group looking at abuse and wants mandatory training on the issue for all community nurses. It also calls for an offenders’ register.

The film will be available on the www.cdna-online.org.uk website from the end of November.

CDNA chief executive Anne Duffy said: ‘Some community nurses don’t know what to look for. It’s really important we raise the profile of this as much as we can.’
