This 9-year-old monk living in a remote village in the Himalayas presented via telemedicine with multiple crusted lesions on his scalp.

Other children in the area exhibited the same lesions. Do you know what condition this child has?

Answer: Microscopic examination demonstrated fungal hyphae filled with spores, consistent with tinea capitis.
