Still here after 40 years of nursing .Need I say More !
At last true team work , that is working for the patient and the staff . Well done let's roll out more programs like this.
OMG how true the above comments are
I agree with all said Yes I would like to be nursed by a nurse like me An SEN RGN BSc Nursing degree holder
And do you know what has kept me in nursing is my first nursing registration SEN - true bedside nursing now known as NAP !!!
But most of all is my compassion empathy and PASSION STILL AFTER 40 YEARS FOR MY PATIENTS AND THE PROFESSION I HONOR BUT WHO KNOWS FOR HOW LONG I WILL !!!
WHY BECAUSE I CARE and listen and manage my patients needs as and when they require rather than checklist that are just ticked !!
And I try not to say a minute when actually it could mean hours the patient is waiting !!
Of course pain control is related to nursing shortage . More registered nurses means more time to give the required PRN and regular pain medication as and when prescribed and when requested Now what are we doing really chasing our own tails . ! I am frustrated that research even as to be done to find this fact out come on everyone management Government wake up. let us do our real jobs in real time not rushed not late !!
At last we are being cared for as human beings . I so love the though of team time we need to talk about our pains of work and the way we work . But how safe are these sessions . I also agree 1 hour way to long but depending on numbers 15 mins -maybe to short I feel there should be a balance and the attendees requests .
